SARAH BOWERS - Sarahtonin
“This world is f*@ked :). I need as much Sarahtonin as I can get.”
Sarah has no idea what she is doing, but she is having fun figuring it out.
PSA: This is not a self help cabaret. A beginners guide in… appreciating the simple moments, toxic positivity, ‘touching grass’ and how to truly find Sarahtonin in our lives.
It follows Sarah’s tales of making friends wherever she goes, whether pashing randoms on planes, or French men in coffee shops.
Maybe we could all use a bit more Sarahtonin?
Spite and Other Delights
National Finalist RAW Comedy 2022 Melbourne International Comedy Festival
In the past year Aves Robins has been under the knife, read way too much obscure Catholic history and somehow transformed into a goth jellyfish.
Her friends and family are bewildered and concerned.
And she has but one opportunity to convince them it’s all going to be okay.
Spite and Other Delights is a love letter to the absurd. It’s comedy that can only be performed by someone who is not afraid of the dark.
At least not as much as overhead lighting.
JAYNE STEER - ADDICKTED
Jayne Steer lost her mum, her fiancé and her mind – in that order, all two weeks before her nine-night Melbourne International Comedy Festival debut. After a psychotic episode on her 35th birthday led to a cPTSD diagnosis, Jayne decided to escape to a luxury treatment facility in Thailand for three months. Surrounded by millionaires healing trauma through smoothies and breathwork, Jayne finally faced her biggest addiction – not to men, not to drugs or chaos, but to love itself. Darkly funny and painfully human, Addickted is the brutally honest comedy about loss, lust and trying to heal yourself while constantly lighting yourself on fire.
Hannan Azlan - Drgs R Bad
Hannan Azlan celebrated her 30th birthday in rehab.
She spent most of her comedy career and adult life running away from her problems, running away from herself. She used dark humour and songs about incest to hide. To mask. To distract the audience. So you couldn’t truly see her.
This production is being written in the spirit of acceptance and forgiveness – to reveal, to bare, to show.
‘A revelation.’ ★★★★★ ArtsHub
Hannan has been featured on Comedy Central, MTV and ABC.
She is the youngest winner of the Hong Kong International Comedy Competition and has since toured Asia, Australia, the UK, EU and USA.
She graduated with a MA from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and trained at Ecole Philippe Gaulier.
