16 Days of Activism Walk Against Gender Based Violence

Join us for the Walk Against Gender Based Violence on Friday 24 November to help create a future where we are all safe, equal and respected.

This event marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, a UN global campaign calling for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.

By joining the Walk in solidarity with victim survivors, you can take action to prevent family violence and violence against women. People of all genders are welcome.

Meet at 10.45AM on the Ground Floor of QVWC, 210 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne. The walk will begin at Parliament House Steps, Spring Street, Melbourne and end in Fitzory Gardens.

Wear orange if you can and don’t forget colourful signs and banners.

UN Women kicks off a UN-wide annual campaign on 25 November, the International Day to End Violence against Women.

Over the following 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, we are we are asking governments, institutions, and citizens to show us how much the world cares about ending violence against women and girls under the theme "UNITE! Invest to prevent violence against women and girls".

Led by civil society groups around the world, the campaign is supported by the United Nations through the Secretary General’s initiative, UNITE by 2030 to End Violence against Women.
