Annette Creek is the Executive Officer of the Nhill Learning Centre. Nhill is a small town in western Victoria’s Wimmera region, halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne. With a population of approximately 2000 people, over the past 10 years Nhill has welcomed over 200 Karen people – around 10% of its total population – and helped them make Nhill their home.

Azmeena Hussain is a partner at law firm Maurice Blackburn Lawyers and, as the manager of their Workplace injuries division, defends the rights of workers to feel safe on the job, all day, every day.

Sue Maslin is a legend of the Australian film industry. As a producer, she has been at the forefront of feature film and documentary making for over three decades with an incredible track record of putting incredible stories on screen.

Jill Prior is the inaugural Principal Legal Officer of the Law and Advocacy Centre for Women, a unique legal practice designed for women who are in, or at risk of entering, the criminal justice system.

Maha Sukkar is the first Australian police officer to wear the hijab. A Sergeant and teacher at the Victorian Police Academy, Maha works between communities and uses the golden thread of multiculturalism to inspire her students.

Linh Do is a Melbourne-based climate change activist who’s worked from the age of 16 to change the way the world thinks about climate change. Currently the Project Lead of Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project, Linh is a trailblazing communicator who, at just 16, created the ‘Change a Million Lightbulbs’ campaign.

I’m so pleased to be speaking with Sue Giles, Artistic Director of Polyglot, a revolutionary theatre company for young people. I’ve seen Polyglot performances in action and, action is the right word to describe it – a beautiful, organised, immersive chaos that sees the audience – children – take the lead in the performance and make it their own.

I’m here to meet with Sherene Hassan, the Director of Education and Community Engagement at the Museum. Sherene has worked in leadership roles in the Islamic community and is a force for change in creating and facilitating interfaith dialogue.
