Donations to the QVWCT Shilling Fund resource initiatives that support women and women’s organisations to achieve their vision and goals. Current initiatives include QVWC initiatives that:

• support women and women’s organisations to build their capacity and effectiveness, such as the Working with Government and Parliament Kit [link to kit]

• improving women’s financial decision making skills

• promoting positive body image among young women [link to InfoHub and Body Image] .

Are donations to the Shilling Fund tax deductible?

Donations to the QVWCT Shilling Fund are tax deductible.

Donors who provide gifts of over $150 to the Shilling Fund may choose to nominate a woman for the Shilling Wall.

The QVWCT Shilling Fund has been established by the National Foundation for Australian Women (NFAW) as one of its preferred donor funds. The NFAW was established in 1989 to promote the rights and interests of women.

Maybe your women’s group would like to nominate a special woman to the Shilling Wall?

Women working in the Victorian ICT sector decided to give Shilling Wall tributes as prizes in their annual awards.

At the Inaugural Annual Dinner of the Victorian ICT for Women Network ( VicICTforWomen) held in May 2008, this fabulous group of women were recognised for their contribution to women working in the Information & Communications Technology sector. Find out more about why they did this here.

Would you like to get together with others to celebrate an inspiring woman on the Wall

Donations can now be made by groups who would like to jointly nominate a woman for the Wall. This could be a member of your family, a friend, or a community, business or public figure who has inspired others.

To take up this opportunity you will need one or more coordinating donors, an agreed overall target donation of $500 or more, and a 30 word or less statement about the significance of the woman being nominated by the group (optional). A special recruitment form for the group is prepared by the Centre to make donating easier. Each donor in the Multiple Donor group is recorded against the nominee’s name and receives an individual tax deductible receipt.
