The Shilling Wall gives everyone the opportunity to celebrate a woman in their life.

Taking pride of place in the grounds of the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre, the Shilling Wall and Garden provide a public space for relaxation and reflection on the achievements of women.

The Shilling Wall acknowledges and celebrates the many and varied contributions of women in shaping the world in which we live.

Search here for the names of women who have been nominated to the Shilling Wall and read the significance statements that tell the story of how they have inspired others.

The woman you nominate may have made a difference in any walk of life. She might be a teacher, a politician or journalist. She might be a colleague or community advocate or contributor whose work you’d like to honour. She might be a loving and much loved mother or grandmother, or an affectionate aunt. She could be your daughter, partner, sister, mentor or friend. She could be someone you’ve never met, but whose actions have inspired you and affected your life. The main criterion for inclusion is to have made a positive impact in the lives of others.

Donations are gifted to the QVWCT -Shilling Fund that resource Queen Victoria Women’s Centre programs. These programs support women and women’s organisations to create the future they want for themselves and the women of the future .
