Women’s economic security and financial health is affected by gender differences, research tells us that Australian women:
We know that women are interested in learning more about planning for their financial future, including their retirement; and yet only 7 Australian consumer and financial literacy initiatives (out of over 700) targeted the specific challenges faced by women.
The Queen Victoria Women's Centre (QVWC) believes that targeted women’s financial literacy education programs are vital to closing the money gap, boosting women’s knowledge and confidence in money management and planning to secure a healthy financial future.
From 2008 to 2010 the QVWC worked in partnership with the Victorian Governments’ Office for Women’s Policy and WIRE women’s Information to develop and deliver the Women’s Financial Literacy Program.
Over three years 2,678 Victorian women participated in the partnership program which developed and delivered:
