the possible questions that might be asked. For example, many boards will be concerned about whether their organisation can afford to be family friendly.

If the entire policy can't be implemented at once, negotiate to have certain aspects of the policy phased in over time, or suggest a trial period.

Once approval is gained, make sure the policy is easily accessible for all staff to read.
